Romanesque religious architecture in Prague - the archaeological perspective

Comprehensive processing of the results of older archaeological research into the remains of Romanesque religious architecture on the territory of Prague (except for the religious buildings of Prague Castle and Vyšehrad) in the form of findings reports.An itemised summary of the research (15 projects of varying scope) is included in the Justification of the Proposal. The next step is their subsequent assessment, together with appraisal of other research projects on which the findings reports are based(22 in all) and their treatment in the form of the final publication, which will reflect both questions of the appearance of the building and their evolution, and also related issues (placing them into the origins of the settlement, dealing with chronological issues) and will be published in the final year of the present project. The project is not based solely on the research of the applicant?s institution but seeks to encompass the entire issue and include projects carried out by other institutions.In the course of its implementation, it is anticipated that 2-3 progress reports each year will be given at conferences and in the specialised press.
