Anotace anglicky

The termination of a book the goal of which is, in the form of a monograph, to present the early development of the metallurgy of iron in Europe, and to document it with evidence based on specialized archaeological excavations and surveying of major iron- producing districts. Investigations of that type take place in most of European countries incl. the territory of the Czech Republic since the World War II. The work summarizes the principles of the direct ( bloomer ) process of metallurgy of iron, discusses the raw material exploitation ( ore mining and dressing ) ( fuel ), types of iron work and process plants as well as the models of metallurgical installations in their development and evolution, having been the part of human culture in time and space. It takes into account the evidencing value of production waste ( slag's, iron and steel blooms etc.) within general trends of technology and economical significance. The book is the result of a forty years effort of the author.
