The Atlas is solitary in its conception. 1. On 27 maps of Europe the areas of archaeological cultures and important and well-published find-places will be represented, in the time span since the beginnings of the settlement in the older stone age till tothe end of the old era. The emphasis is laid on the continuous settlement of Europe since the first agrarians ( neolithic, 7.- 6.mill.B.C. ) till to the end of the old era. Each time horizon ( annex C/1 ) is represented by two maps - that of cultures and that of find-places, consequently the atlas will contain altogether 54 map sheets. 2. The textual part is focused on the presentation of the special literature, which is connected with maps. The archaeologists and historians from different countries will be in this way quickly informed about the recent state of the theoretical archaeological research in each part of Europe and in various time horizons.
