The Vietnamese in the Czech Republic. Problems related to the adaptation of a modern ethnic group within the local-milieu of general Czech society

Anotace anglicky

The Vietnamese ethnic group has been developing since 1956. It belongs to the most numerous modern immigratory groups. The research concerns the preservation of ethnic particularity both in the family and in the gradual integrative attempt at business activities. Thus, it describes two antagonistic trends : 1. the enduring ethnic isolation toward the majority population, 2. the necessity of open practicable communication in the sphere of enterprise. The result of the ethnologic research will be a manuscript. Besides the two trends, the work also analyses the migratory movement of the Vietnamese ethnic group between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, and outlines the prognosis of the development of the Vietnamese ethnic group in the Czech Republic after the year 2001 in the domains of the way of life of this community and of its relations with the majority.
