Quality of life of persons taking care of a family member with a severe health handicap

Anotace anglicky

The essence of the proposed project is devising the quality of life model in such a manner that this phenomenon is well comprehended by persons caring for a family member with severe health handicap under conditions stipulated by the geographic, demographic, educational, legislative, etc., scope of the Czech Republic. As regards the aim of the project, the objective herein is to stipulate the difference in concept of quality of life for the target group with respect to the majority (intact) society, andto verify and describe the tools for measuring the above stated phenomenon on the basis of investigation and comparisons. Additionally, the intention is subsequent verification of the efficiency of expressive therapeutic and artistic tools (drama therapy, art therapy and philetics in art education, music therapy and poetical therapy) as relaxation-respite instruments and tools of psychosocial prevention for persons caring for a family member with a severe health handicap. Based on empiric investigations, the project further seeks to achieve the target of elaborating a strategy of possible system (legislative, economic, personnel) corrections in the existing systems of support for a family caring for its member with a severe health handicap, applicableat executive and decision-making levels of public administration and self-governing bodies.
