Aesthetic Aspects in Music Theoretical Writings of Antonín Rejcha

Anotace anglicky

In the first period of 19th-century, treatises by Antonín Rejcha belong to the most significant works of the theory of music. Rejcha's writings diversify from giving reasons for innovation of old-fashioned musical forms to textbooks of teaching disciplines about melody, harmony, rhythm and musical composition. Rejcha studied at the Faculty of Arts and his theory of music is always based on philosophical-aesthetic topics of his times. The goal of this project is thoroughly to elaborate aestheticideas inall Rejcha's theoretical writings and to confront them with Rejcha's musical compositions and with tendencies of aesthetics. Basic research on Rejcha's aesthetics of music should prove which of the tendencies of aesthetics was domimant or antithetical respectively. Rejcha the teacher brought up many significant composers of 19th-century. The first systematical research on Rejcha's aesthetics of music should clarify to what extend he affected directly and indirectly (through his treatises)
