Modern history of entrepreneurial activities and entrepreneurs in Europe in the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century

Anotace anglicky

So far, the modern history of entrepreneurship as part of economic history of 19th and 20th century in the European context has not been dealt with in the Czech historiography yet. This theme - abandoned until 1989 - has become vital because nowadays themarket relations rule again the Czech economy. In the researched period, a number of firms appeared which today are multinational corporations. Even today we can often follow the ways of the decision-making process. We can see how the entrepreneurial philosophy and management were applied. The goal of the project is to analyse the phenomenon of the history of entrepreneurship and changes of firms' behaviour in the past, documented on various types of companies. The analysis will use the latest resultsof science research, such as German, Austrian and Swiss. We expect the grant to result in publishing of an encyclopaedia, History of European Entrepreneurs and a monography, Modern History of Entrepreneurship in Europe. Also organizing special seminars regarding the modern history of entrepreneurship will be offered.
