The Czech Feminist Thinking of the 19th and 20th Century

Anotace anglicky

The project Czech Feminist Thinking of the 19th and 20th Century focuses on the feminist thinking development since the first half of the 19th century till the mid-20th century. It is a period of visible changes of status of women from within all classes, of their activities, dressing, manners and thinking. Project responds to the need of surveying a whitespace in Czech historic research. The notion Czech primarily refers to the territory, the notion feminist includes men's and women's public and theirviews on women and relations among men and women in the historic perspective of the 19th and 20th century. The project offers comparison with neighboring countries (Austria, Germany). It aspires to find out who, when and within what context articulated positions on women and their mutual relations, to retrace how individual personalities thought (men as well as women) on women and mainly on relations of sexes, how they reflected them, and to sketch the Czech feminist thinking map. Outputs will be summarized in an anthology of texts on feminist thinking and in a monograph.
