Anotace anglicky

The drafted project will describe one of little known chapters of the history of uranium ore mining in the territory of Czechoslovakia. Besides the permanent staff, there was an unfree labour force employed in the uranium industry. These people were notonly prisoners within the execution of a punishment but also German prisoners of war and inmates of hard labour camps, which were established pursuant to the Act No. 247/48 Coll., on the hard labour camps. The German prisoners of war were sent to hard labour in the area of uranium mining within the period of years 1946-1950. The hard labour camps in the uranium areas existed in 1949-1951. The prisoners participated on the uranium ore production in 1949-1986. The objective of the project is a descriptionof deceased unfree work forces regardless whether it was a political prisoner or a criminal and apart from the fact whether this person was sentenced by a court or committed by a regional committee ("troika") or he got into the uranium area another way.The project deal with making a register of all the fatal victims that worked involuntarily in the uranium areas (work injury, disease, gunning down on the run, suicide or another cause of death).
