Virus-free potatoes: health restoration, diagnosis and molecular technology of induced resistance

Anotace anglicky

This is the first part of proposals directed to the production of virus-free potatoes in our country. In this project the initial stages of the work will be solved, aiming at procedures of PVS elimination at in-vitro cultures, the development and evaluation of methods suitable of early virus detection and at increasing of the resistance by means of genetic-manipulation methods. Following tasks will be solved:1) the evaluation of virusstatic chemicals in combination with thermoterapy for more effective eradication of viruses and regeneration ability of explants, 2) the modification of immunochemical methods for early, sensitive and large-scale virus detection and for the evaluation of degree of resistance: the development of techniques based on molecular hybridisation and PCR for detection on transgenic materials as well as for the virus diagnosis, 3) the elaboration of the complex system of potato resistance against PVS emploing selected method of gene manipulation.

Zhodnocení výsledků projektu

Jedná se o řešení významného projektu k ozdravění brambor a souvisejících metod k získání bezvirózních odrůd. Projekt hledal řešení snížené vnímavosti k reinfekci virů. Sledoval se vliv virostatických preparátů a dalších projevů virů pomocí transgenáze.
