This long-term project, focused on reconstruction of musical milieu at the court of Rudolf II and on his musical and cultural patronage, is divided into three stages: the result of the previous phase was the complete digitization of all ?musical? payments of the imperial treasury during the reign of Rudolf II: as result it was created the first complete list of more than 300 regular paid imperial musicians active at the court of Rudolf II in different functions (not only in the Chapel). After this firstphase was finished in 2008, the proposed second phase will focus on the life and social position of the Rudolfine musicians at the imperial court and on their establishing in the Prague environment: an essential prerequisite for this is to study and evaluate the other kinds of payments (already digitized), regular (clothes, New Year bonus) and exceptional (permanent supplements to wages, pensions, commissions, gifts). The systematic exploration of account books (now in Vienna, Hofkammerarchiv) will be completed in this second phase by the heuristics and elaboration of of other sources kept today in archives in Vienna (ennoblements, testaments, requests) and sources preserved in Milan, Trent, Linz, Prague and Brno. The output of this phase will be a monograph intended as the second part of the final trilogy. The third stage will after it focus on the definition of ?Rudolfine? music production and compilation of an updated bio-bibliographical repertory of Rudolfine musicians.

Hlavním výstupem je monografie The Musicians at the Court of Rudolph II (1576-1612) in the Imperial Account Books. Ta byla předložena pouze v elektronické verzi a nebyla doposud vydána. Náklady na publikování edice však byly čerpány. Dílčí výstupy řešit?
