Algebra and Geometry: the reunion and trends in current mathematics

Anotace anglicky

Geometric results are expressed, as a rule, in the algebraic language, while the geometric thinking always is of essential help when dealing with algebraic problems. Together, the algebraic and geometric approach is behind groundbreaking analytical results. The main goal of the project is to enable the union of the two strongest groups in these disciplines in the Czech Republic, to expand the tradition of joint seminars and wider co-operation, to offer jointly research themes for doctoral thesis for both Czech and foreign students, to organize the invited lecture series of foreign guests, and to allow in this way the current and future students of the Charles University and Masaryk university not only to achieve a deeper and more effective education but also to gain a better chance for carrier in academic or commercial institutions.
