Anotace anglicky

The current computer science has a so broad scope that it is hard for scientists from different sub-areas to understand each other and to communicate and exploit results of close but different sub-areas. This barrier slows down research progress due to a?reinventing wheel? effect and so it is important to re-establish awareness about results and challenges of various sub-areas of computer science especially in the early stage of research career. The proposed project ?Res Informatica? targets the abovecommunication gap and it aims at widening horizons of PhD students beyond the topic of their thesis. The project involves selected students of all branches of the PhD Program ?Computer Science? provided at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague in collaboration with the Inst. of Computer Science of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The project fosters collaboration between the local students via joined meetings and seminars and it provides a financial support to students to attend international meetings and to establish new personal contacts there. The joint project will also strengthen education in general scientific methodology that is critical for all students independently of their study branch.

Zhodnocení výsledků projektu

Projekt přispěl ke zvýšení úspěšnosti a kvality doktorského studia na MFF UK. Bylo podpořeno celkem 29 studentů, z toho 6 již obhájilo disertační práci. Studenti v rámci projektu vyprodukovali celkem 87 publikací, z toho řada je velmi kvalitních. Projek?
