Study of infectious diseases and their causative agents

Anotace anglicky

In the last decade there has been a startling growth of the occurrence of infectious diseases (ID's) in developed countries. The risk of spread of pathogenic organisms to a new territory and the risk of onset and spread of a new infectious diseases is multiplied by the immense mobility and migration of population in the modern world. Last but not least, there is a treat of the misuse of infectious agents for the purpose of bioterorism. New, important aspect of the field of ID's is the knowledge of therole of infectious agents in the pathogenesis of diseases considered to be non-infectious, such as malignant tumors oř atherosderosis. It is important to intensify the current research of ID's and their agents in the CR as welí as to increase the co-operation of teams that are devoted to these problems. It is the purpose of this proposal to create a joint team of promoters and postgraduate students from the 1. MF UK, IHBT and IMG AS CR, that are involved in the basic or clinical research of ID's

Cílem projektu bylo zintenzívnit, prohloubit a rozšířit vědeckou výchovu postgraduálních studentů, kteří se věnují základnímu i klinickému výzkumu infekčních nemocí a jejich původců. Na projektu participovalo v průběhu 4 let celkem 28 PGS, jejich příprav
