Ideal of the "new men" in russian literature of the 1920s and the beginning of the 1930s

Anotace anglicky

The proposed project aims at making-up of a complex analysis of the idea of "the new man" as it was reflected in Russian literature in the 20´s and at the beginning of the 30´s of the 20th century. The idea of "the new man" became, after the assumption of power by Bolsheviks in Russia, a fundamental issue to restructuring of all society. The aim of the research is to specify and to evidence in all details by what various artistic means and creative approaches literature reacted to this ideological canon, to what extent it anticipated its consequences and effects, to what extent it itself created it, if it foresaw it. An analysis of ways of literary image of mechanisms of totalitarian regime leads to a deeper understanding of totalitarianism itself, ofits birth, manifestation and substance. The conception of "the new man" is a complex phenomenon, it is a matter of a knotty problem that manifested itself in many areas. Besides pieces of knowledge from literary history and literary-critical methods (especially the comparative method and the method of semiotic analysis), pieces of knowledge from anthropology, history, religionistics, philosophy, theory of myth, science, totalitarianism and others will be used.
