Europeanisation of Foreign Policy in the Field of Human Rights Protection

Anotace anglicky

Together with the ongoing process of European integration several scholars have focused on the influence of the EU on member states. Recently, as a result of formation of Common Foreign and Security Policy, the issue has been raised within the theory ofinternational relations, too. However, in this area changes in security policies have been examined primarily. Many other important areas of foreign policy remain out of attention. To fill in this gap at least partially the project proposal concentrateson Europeanisation of foreign policy in the field of human rights protection. It analyses changes in this important area of policy-making in 8 states through different stages of Common Foreign and Security Policy development. Thus, it focuses on 5 basiccriteria identified in the so-called Mower model of foreign policy in the field of human rights analysis: rationale, priorities, definition, objectives, targets. It compares substance and degree of Europeanisation in particular cases and identifies
