Archaeological Information Sytem of the Czech Republic

Anotace anglicky

The core of the AIS CR infrastructure is consisting of the application Archaeological Map of the Czech Republic (AMCR). In addition to the management of current archaeological excavation activities in the field, AMCR receives systematic data on available completed field excavations and provides it to various types of users. The main aims of the project in 2020-2022 are then the strengthening of this tool, especially in the framework of the implementation of the new web client AMCR, which will replace the existing desktop application; the implementation of extensions for specific research needs and communities (e.g. evidence for findings gathered by metal detectors, evidence of specific research data), standardisation and opening of thesauri, in order to ensure national authority for the use of the archaeological terminology in information systems and deeper integration with the systems of the National Heritage Institute, eventually with museum collections evidence. The great emphasis is placed on the content of infrastructure, another important goal is the completion of the digitization and revision of the archives of the Institute of Archaeology in Brno, revision and preparation of the publication of the digitized photographic and plan documentation of the Institute of Archaeology in Prague and fostering data sharing in an international research environment by participating in international projects and infrastructures, incl. data indexing in summary catalogues. By strengthening communication with the public, we would like to increase the number of student and public users.

Velká výzkumná infrastruktura poskytovala služby vědecké komunitě z ČR i zahraničí v souladu s cíli projektu a zajišťovala účast České republiky v nadnárodních strukturách. Jak výkonem svých služeb na domácí půdě, tak svým mezinárodním přesahem projekt zcela naplnil své poslání.
