CDV has a commercialisation system established since 2016. We want to develop this further through the Knowledge Management Unit (KMU) in order to achieve a higher number of sub-projects that successfully pass the PoC phase and generate sufficient funds for their further independent development. The commercialisation process will be carried out in close cooperation with the application sector and will gradually replace the financial support of PoC activities from public funds. We will use an agile approach to cooperation with the application sphere (consultation of the emerging product, partnerships) will lead to an increase in the efficiency of the funding spent (faster development that meets the needs of users), increase the applicability of results to practice and also shift the thinking of researchers to a greater orientation towards meeting the needs of users. Due to the length of the project (48 months) a significant shift can be achieved. The aim of the project is to identify, through the CTT and under the supervision of an independent Board, several sub-projects each year, given the size and structure of the institution, which have a high potential for application in new or improved products and services. According to the Marketing Conception, the objective is to secure a minimum of 30% of PoC projects with external project funding (partner's own development, funding for CDV development, buy-in of pilot testing results, etc.) by 2027, and to engage potential users/customers in consultation or co-development partners for 50% of PoC projects within 6 months of the start of the project. The objectives of our project are in line with the objectives of the national RIS3 strategy to improve the quality of public research, in which the government aims to increase the share of corporate spending on public research and increase revenues from commercialisation of results and greater (and more effective) use of intellectual property tools.
