Water in Motion: Water Management and Its Role in Shaping the Cultural Landscape from the Late Middle Ages to the Present
Anotace anglicky
The project builds on the environmental research and measures promoted by the Regional Authority of the Pardubice Region aimed at mitigating the impacts of climate change, including flash floods. Scientists of various disciplineswill address the relationship between the environmental transformation of the landscape, economic activity, and social change. We will analyse the rise and dissolution of the extensive pond infrastructure with regard to its potential for water retention in the landscape, but also as part of structural changes in settlement patterns. We will be interested in using historical knowledge to form the negotiation strategies that will lead to reaching a consensus among local communities on measures reflecting the increase in the resilience of global climate change.
