Ve dnech 2. - 3. března 2021 proběhl v Institutu ochrany obyvatelstva online výcvik informačních systémů aplikace WISER (Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders) a databáze ERG (Emergency Response Guidebook) pro státy Jihoafrického rozvojového společenství SADC (Southern African Development Community). Výcvik prováděli odborníci Institutu ochrany obyvatelstva, koordinaci akce řídila Organizace pro zákaz chemických zbraní (OPCW). Akce se zúčastnilo dvacet čtyři expertů z devíti států jihoafrického regionu: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagaskar, Mauricius, Mosambik, Jihoafrická republika, Tanzanie a Zimbabwe. Účastníci se během výcviku naučili rychle a spolehlivě charakterizovat chemickou událost, identifikovat chemickou látku na základě jejích vlastností a symptomů, a správně postupovat při řešení zásahu.

On March 2 - 3, 2021, the Institute of Population Protection held an online information systems training for the WISER application (Wireless Information System for Emergency Responders) and the ERG (Emergency Response Guidebook) database for the states of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The training was carried out by experts from the Institute of Population Protection, the coordination of the event was managed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Twenty-four experts from nine countries of the Southern African region participated in the event: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. During the training, the participants learned to quickly and reliably characterize a chemical event, to identify a chemical substance based on its properties and symptoms, and to proceed correctly in dealing with an intervention.
