Presently composite materials are very often used in aerospace and marine industry. In connection with keeping an operational safety of parts manufactured from these materials a lot of efforts are addressed to improvement of both standard (ultrasonic, X-ray and eddy current) and modern (shearography) non destructive methods. The laser shearograpy method has series of advantages such as rapid yet BVID sensitive inspection mainly for sandwich structures with a honeycomb and a foam core. The results from such non destructive analysis of marine sandwich bonded keel are presented. The aim of this work had been the laser shearography verification for a structure inspection without detailed knowledge of a structure building neither calibration specimens withartificial defects. The laser shearography is capable to detect both defects and structure anomalies
