The article deals with equipment life cycle issues incidence on dependability assessment of subsystems of a system. It is necessary to solve all demands of certification of small airplanes according to CS-23 requirements from point of view of life cyclelimitations of particular equipment. The demands include maintainability of the systems as well. The contribution partly includes the small aircraft equipment life cycle problems in more general system life cycle approach, on the other hand it directs towards a more deep understanding of particular life cycle phases in reference to subsystem testing, implementation and maintenance. It presents a life cycle graphical bathtub curve presentation using Weibull distribution.
