Results of Integrated Monitoring at the Czech ICP-IM Station Observatory Košetice
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The Košetice observatory of CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute) is the only Czech ICP-IM station. The observatory is involved in the GAW/WMO and EMEP/ECE international monitoring programmes as well. The monitoring programme of Košetice observatoryis very wide and includes meteorology , solar radiation, air chemistry, precipitation chemistry, hydrology and surface water chemistry, soil analysis, biological monitoring and POPs monitoring in all compartments of the environment. The results of monitoring in the period 1990-2000 show that concentrations of sulphur compounds in the atmosphere have been declining rapidly during the nineties, reflecting a decrease in emissions regionally. The reduction of sulphur emission in the Czech Republic has resulted in decreasing of background sulphur deposition as well. The greatest difference is observed in throughfall, which means the decrease of dry sulphur deposition. A distinct reduction of sulphates occurs in the catchment. Sulphur input
