Trends of Surface Ozone at the Czech Regional GAW and EMEP stations.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Monitoring is performed at regional stations in Košetice (GAW and EMEP) and Svratouch (EMEP). Surface ozone measurements began at these stations in 1989. At the time these were the first regular measurements of surface ozone in the Czech Republic, together with the city outskirts station in Libuš, Prague. The annual mean surface ozone concentration in rural areas of the Czech Republic stabilised in the period under review at a relatively high level and has not increased further.Throughout the period under consideration, the mean surface ozone concentration at Czech regional stations was considerably higher than at the suburban station at Libuš in Prague. Situations in which there is a rapid increase in surface ozone concentration, which then has a negative effect on human health, usually occur in longer periods with typical summer weather (extreme temperatures, cloudless days, high intensity of solar radiation). During such episodes, extensive regions on a scale which goes beyond the b
