Název v původním jazyce
Meteorological drought events in the Czech Republic during 1875-2005 according to Palmer?s drought indices
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The frequency and duration of drought events (and also their severity) has been increasing since late 19th century. At most of the 233 stations there has been significant drying trend in at least one month during period 1961-2000. The drying trends werefound both for PDSI and ZIND.There has been a significant change in the long-term values of PDSI and ZIND especially during AMJ in late 20th century compared with the end of 19th century. Central European high pressure and southern and eastern circulation types are in general conducive to drought in most of the seasons. There have been notable changes in frequency of circulation types during AMJ with a higher occurrence of drought conducive situations after 1940. There is a statistically significant correlation between drought frequency and frequency of particular circulation types. The observed increase in relative duration of drought conducive circulation types has been accompanied by sharp increase in dryness.
