Projection of greenhouse gases and basic pollutants in domestic sector with the model MESSAGE
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The regular official projections of greenhouse gases (GHG) and basic pollutants (BP) for European Commission (EC), for United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and for Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) are organized by Czech Hydro-metheorological Institute (CHMI). For projection calculations in energy and industrial sectors an energy model MESSAGE was chosen. In the energy sector emissions from electricity and heat production, from fuel production, oil refining, domestic and commercial sectors, from agriculture, forest management and also from transport. These emissions depend on fuel type used, on fuel consumption development and on the application of abatement measures. In the industrial sector emissions are devided into emission from combustion and from industrial processes. The model MESSAGE calculates emission projection according to the input data. The main aim of the projection calculation was the estimation of emission projection in individual sectors with the MESSAGE until 2035. A high decline of GHG emissions in the 1990s was mainly due to phasing-out or the modernisation and efficiency improvement of heavy industry facilities. Main drivers for the further emission fall was the change in fuel mix and implementation of measures reducing energy consumption.
