Climatology of the irregular flow events as observed by the Tusimice Observatory tower and SODAR/RASS system
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The Tusimice Observatory measuring complex consists of: i) mast measuring system for measuring of wind, temperature and humidity in the vertical profile up to 80 m above the ground, including turbulent characteristics and measurement of the radiation balance to monitor the radiant energy flows near the ground.; ii) SODAR / RASS system for monitoring of the vertical wind, temperature, air stability and turbulence profiles in a layer between 40 and 620 m above ground; iii) Laser ceilometer with the BL-VIEW software extension, enabling cloud base height measurements and the mixing height estimate. Additionally, monitoring of hourly air quality is collocated with the meteorogical observing system. In the case of radiation weather-type, the special flow modes in the lowest part of the atmospheric boundary layer were observed at the site for a long time. In the night hours, the near-ground flow direction suddenly turns by 180 degrees, while at higher levels, the original direction sustains. This specific flow regime can lead to misleading conclusions concerning the direction of the air pollution transport, particularly from the high stacks. The phenomenon description, in a broader context, is presented in the contribution, together with the climatology of its occurrence. An attempt is made to formulate hypothesis explaining the origin of this phenomenon.
