The objectives of the study were to find out the characteristics of litter-fall and humus horizons in the mountain young Norway spruce stand with different thinning regimes. Research was done ion two comparative plots. The results of investigation showed, that under experimental mountain Norway spruce monoculture 243-276 thousand kg of dry biomass is in holorganic horizons (L, F and H) stored now per hectare. Differences between comparative plots were not statistically significant on level p<0.05. The total weight of litter fall under 39 years old Norway spruce stand represented about 5.1 thousand kg.ha-1 on control plot 1 without thinning and about 3.6 thousand kg.ha-1 on heavily thinned plot 3 (statistically significant on level p<0.05). Differencesof the nutrient contents of humus horizons between comparative variants were not statistically significant on level p<0.05.
