Impact of fish farming on fish ponds microbial water quality
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of manure application on faecal pollution and related potential health risk of fish pond utilization. Our results showed that differences in microbial water quality in fish ponds depend on their usage. Differences in running processes are influenced by the nutrient contents and their ratios, course of food chain and by environmental conditions. Due to manuring, the microbial water quality in fish ponds was measurably affected, but the impact on surface water quality of recipients was not found. The lowest microbial contamination was found in ponds before manuring and in non-manured fish ponds. The manured ponds had higher organic indicator amounts and great differences between measured values of faecal indicators. The highest bacterial counts were in non-manured fish ponds with municipal waste water inflow and in manured fish ponds with waterfowl breeding
