Diese Publikation richtet sich an die interessierte Öffentlichkeit. Sie informiert über die wichtigsten Ergebnisse des Projekts GRACE (Gemeinsam genutzte Grundwasserressourcen im tschechisch-sächsischen Grenzgebiet), die die Ableitung einer Strategie fürden Schutz der Grundwasserressourcen im grenzübergreifenden Gebiet Hřensko? Křinice/ Kirnitzsch ermöglichen. Kennzeichnend sind die durch das Projekt intensivierte Zusammenarbeit der tschechischen und sächsischen Fachleute sowie die Anbindung an ein konkretes Gebiet im tschechisch-sächsischen Grenzraum. In der Publikation werden die Ergebnisse aus den Teilstudien der Grundwasserströ- mungsmodellierung, zu den Quellen und Quellgebieten, zur Grundwasserfauna sowie zur Bestimmung von Alter und Mischung des Grundwassers mit Hilfe von Isotopen dargestellt. Abschließend werden Vorschläge für Maßnahmen zum gemeinsamen Schutz der grenzübergreifenden Wasserressourcen vorgestellt.

This publication is targeted at an interested public. It informs about the most important results of the project GRACE (Groundwater Absence in Cretaceous Sandstone Aquifers). The results are used to derive a strategy for the protection of groundwater resources in the transnational area Hřensko?Křinice/Kirnitzsch. The project is characterised by the more intensive cooperation between Czech and Saxon experts and the project-focus on a specific region in the borderland of both the Czech Republic and the Free State of Saxony (Germany). The publication presents the results of the following subprojects: groundwater flow modelling, springs and spring discharge, fauna of groundwater, age and mixing of groundwater by isotope measurements. Finally the publication concludes with several proposals for management strategies aiming at the protection of the transboundary water resources.
