BEHAVIOUR OF SELECTED RADIOLOGICAL, BIOLOGICAL, AND PHYSICO-CHEMICAL INDICATORS OF THE HYDROSPHERE AND THEIR CHANGES RELATED TO THE OPERATION OF THE NUCLEAR POWER PLANT TEMELÍN
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The study analyses results of long-term monitoring of 3H, 90Sr, and 137Cs concentrations in the hydrosphere in the vicinity of the Nuclear Power Plant Temelín carried out from 1990 to 2013. The study was carried out in the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute. Radionuclides 3H, 90Sr, and 137Cs were monitored in surface water, river sediments, aquatic flora, and fish species. This study also integrates all the knowledge available of their behaviour and concentrations originating mainly from residual contamination, so as to assess the impacts of the power plant on the hydrosphere, on these indicators during its standard operation, and on possible accidents. The radionuclides were analysed in terms of spatial and temporal variability in their concentrations and their inflows and outflows, mainly into and from the Orlík reservoir. The analysis included standard radioecological characteristics applicable to assessing long-term development and behaviour of radionuclides in the environment affected by their possible accidental releases over or outside the territory of the Czech Republic.
