Regional, seasonal and inter-annual patterns of phosphorus and nitrogen runoff from agricultural watersheds in the Czech Republic after period of fertilization change
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
P and N runoff from agriculture in the Czech Republic has undergone in the last 30 years by changes caused of the political situation in the end of the 20th century. Changes related to a decrease in fertilization of soils and decrease in nutrients concentrations in water observed too. Even though there is an increase in consumption of fertilizers at the moment runoff of N and P shows different trend. Article summarizes the results of research of N and P runoff carried out in the CR in 2006-2010. Article summarizes the development of pollution and different features of both nutrient runoff in pilot river basins. While P runoff decreases and is like that in the natural catchments, water pollution by N from agricultural land represents one of the major problems that does not allow the achievement of good status of water bodies. Apart from higher doses of fertilizers prevents reducing N runoff also the surface drainage, which accelerates the mineralization of N and their runoff in the spring.
