Bridging the data knowledge gaps in hydrology: Developmen of hydro and climate services "HAMR: drought monitoring system and irrigation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The increased incidence of periods of drought in the Czech Republic requires new legislation or modifications and amendments of the existing one. Developing a tool which will help managers of water resources at various levels to make decisions during a period of drought is no less important. The present article provides a description of such a tool/system. The system is based on a combination of a soil model (SoilClim) a hydrological model (Bilan) and water management balance model (WATERES). Together with climatological data inputs, these models represent Hydrological, Agricultural, Meteorological droughts and Reservoirs/Resources. The tool is providing information on the current condition of water resources and on its development trends and forecasts. The system provides information once a week and is available on the web portal https:/hamr.chmi.cz, where there is a page for the general public. The system also provides information for professionals, where it is possible to view detailed data (historical, current status, predictions) and also, for example, detailed data on water management, which are the basis for the water balance.
