Relationship between Clinical Data and Wastewater Parameters during Covid-19 Pandemic in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper summarizes the use of the epidemiological approach to wastewater in the Czech Republic, especially from the medical point of view, especially the detection of various biological agents such as adenoviruses, noroviruses including poliovirus and SARS-Cov-2. The Czech Republic is one of the five countries that introduced widespread vaccination against polio in 1957. It was the first poliomyelitis-free country in the world (1960). Polioviruses were the first viruses to be monitored by law in wastewater. Monitoring of SARS-Cov-2 RNA by RT-qPCR in wastewater with the number of sick people is described, where there is a very good correlation. SARS-Cov-2 RNA is excreted in excrement before symptoms of the disease appear. It is therefore advisable to use wastewater analysis as an early warning tool before the onset of the disease.
