The Craniometrics program was created for the detailed cranio-facial metric analysis of lateral X-ray films of patients with clefts. It was developed in the MS Excel format and enables a one-off measurement of a required number of selected metric traitsof the cranium and face to be carried out. This involves linear and angular dimensions that can be defined beforehand. Thus, we program the required scale of characteristics and, with one command, we measure any number of files of digitised lateral X-rayfilms. The output consists of the values of the dimensions measured in a table editor, which can be processed further statistically. Together with this variable component, which may be used to measure other parts of the skeleton or photographs of a known scale, the program includes special dental and jaw dimensions applicable in orthodoncy.
