Die Jagd figurierte seit ältesten Zeiten unter den Vergnügungen des Adels. Im 18. Jahrhundert wurde sie zu einer der Möglichkeiten, das Prestige des Aristokraten zu repräsentieren. Aus diesem Grund änderten sich nicht nur die Jagdmethoden, sondern auch das Zeremoniell, nach dem sich die Jagd richtete. Das positive Verhältnis des böhmischen Adels zur Jagd hat auf dem Gebiet von Böhmen und Mähren dauerhafte Spuren hinterlassen. Zu den positiven Folgen gehören u.a. die Sammlertraditionen. Dies ist auch amBeispiel des Forst-, Jagd- und Fischereimuseums auf Schloss Ohrada erkennbar. Die Sammlung auf Schloss Ohrada zur Geschichte des Jagdwesens umfasst einen Bestand an interessanten historischen Horninstrumenten. Diese berichten nicht nur über die wichtigeFunktion der Musik bzw. von Musiksignalen bei der Jagd, sondern zeigen auch die verschiedenen Hörnerarten, die bei den einzelnen Jagdtypen zum Einsatz kamen. Already from the ancient ages hunting was one of the favourite aristocracy entertainment. During the 17th and 18th century hunting became newly a possibility how to demonstrate a prestige of the nobility. From this reason it was not only the hunting technique but also the whole ceremony to which was hunting submitted that was proceeding to change. The positive relation of the land aristocracy to hunting left lasting trails on the territory of Bohemia and Moravia. One of the consequences of this relationwas establishing a collecting tradition. This activity created one of conditions for founding the Museum of Forestry, Game-keeping, and Fisheries (subsidiary of the National Museum of Agriculture Prague) on chateau Ohrada in Southern Bohemia. Collections of this institution related to the history of hunting include a number of remarkable horn instruments.
