Die Bibliothek Ottos des Jüngeren Freiherr von Nostitz, die heute in der Prager Nostitzbibliothek verwahrt wird, stellt mit ihren ungefähr 5.000 Bänden eine der bedeutendsten niederschlesischen Barockbibliotheken dar. Zugleich legt sie Zeugnis ab von deraußergewöhnlichen Buchleidenschaft eines in den Rekatholisierungsprozessen seiner Zeit aktiven Adeligen. In der Jauerer Schlossbibliothek sind ältere adlige sowie bürgerliche Bibliotheken erhalten, die mithilfe der Provenienzforschung rekonstruiert werden konnten. Der erste Teil des Buches stellt die Geschichte der Jauerer Bibliothek am Hintergrund des Lebens Ottos des Jüngeren von Nostitz vor, der zweite Teil dann ein alphabetisches Verzeichnis der früheren Buchbesitzer, seine Besitzvermerke sowie dieBücher derselben Buchbesitzer, die in der Universitätsbibliothek Breslau aufbewahrt sind.

The library of Otto Jr. of Nostitz counting approx. 5 000 volumes, today part of the Prague Nostitz Library, represents one of the most important Baroque library of Lower Silesia. At the same time, it brings evidence of an unusual passion for books of anaristocrat who was active in the 17th century recatholicization process. As a result of the book provenance research an important number of the older aristocratic as well as bourgeois libraries were discovered and reconstructed. The first part introduces history of the Jawor Library represented on the background of life of Otto Jr. of Nostitz, the second part contains an alphabetically ordered catalogue of the former book owners and their provenance remarks and notes as well as the catalogue of books coming from the libraries of the same owners today in the collections of the Wrocław University Library.
