The Film Music of Luboš Fišer

Luboš Fišer (September 30, 1935-22 June 1999) was a prominent, distinctive composer of the twentieth century. He divided his work between concert music and music for film, television and theater. In both of these areas, he has achieved significant domestic and foreign success. Nevertheless, his legacy as a whole has not yet been processed. The author of the article tries for the first time to capture Fišer&apos;s music for film and television in individual decades and to outline its specifics in comparison with other Czech authors of film music. A number of parallels can be found in Fišer&apos;s film and concert work, which encourages further research that would shed light on the interconnectedness of both areas of his work.
