August Carl Joseph Corda (1809-1849) was one of the most important naturalists and mycologists who worked at the National Museum in Prague. His studies on microscopy and taxonomy of fungi gained him worldwide fame. An overview of his most important publications is presented, for example, in the compendium Taxonomic Literature (https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/103414#page/594/mode/1up).Corda&apos;s contribution to the development of mycology was summarized, for example, by S. Šebek (https://czechmycology.org/_cm/CM383.pdf#page=3). An overview of the type specimens of fungal taxa that Corda described as new to science was published as early as 1938 by Albert Pilát (http://fi.nm.cz/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Pil%C3%A1t-1.pdf). Our database contains detailed information about these type specimens, which are stored in the Mycological Department of the National Museum in Prague.
