This exhibition catalogue present masterpieces of Buddhist art created between the second and twentieth centuries from collections of the Museum Rietberg Zurich and the National Gallery Prague. Its thematic chapters explore the creation and dissemination of Buddhism in Asian cultures, as well its reception in Central Europe. Besides zhe introductory essays devoted to the development of Buddhist art and the collections of the two instituions, the book contain an overview of catalogue entries for the exhibited objects, a glossary of term, an index, a bibliography, and a list of exhibits.
