The book is published in conjunction with a new exhibition of works by the painter Jan Zrzavý from the collections of the National Gallery in Prague at the Telč Chateau. It offers an accessible introduction into the life of one of the most beloved Czech modern artists but also provides detailed information about the works displayed at Telč. The book follows the themes and structure of the exhibition, offering further connections beyond the displayed works. The focus is on Zrzavý's relationship to the landscape of the Vysočina region, with a presentation of Portrait of Miss Tydlitátová, which is the link between the artist and Telč. The painting has been newly acquired by the NGP and can now be seen in Telč after a long pause. The book includes reproductions of the displayed paintings, as well as photographs and archival documents that expand the context of the exhibition.
