The main interest of the historians has not been focused yet on the 20th century problems of the science and technology, despite the fact that both science and technology have become the main impulses determining the social development in this period. The Conference sought to seek the reasons for this fact and indicated some improvement in understanding the present stage of the scientific revolution. The participants discussed in their contributions some areas of the latest development of science: Ionizing radiation and its use in the Czech Lands, development of theoretical physics in the 20th century, problems in the studies of the newest mathematics, clearness and information, changes in organizing scientific work, chemistry in the 20th century ? science and technology and immovable industrial cultural heritage and its protection. The contributions will be published in the series Acta historiae rerum naturalium necnon technicarum
