Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Publication Collector. Lanna's Glass Collection accompanies the exhibition of the same name, through which the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague presents the glass collection gathered in the second half of the 19th century by the entrepreneur, patron and co-founder of the museum Vojtěch Lanna. The majority of this renowned and unusually extensive collection, which includes more than a thousand outstanding works of mainly Renaissance and Baroque glassmaking, was acquired by the museum as a gift in 1906. Through eighty selected examples, the publication highlights the importance of the Lanna´s Collection and its unique art historical value. In introductory texts and expanding commentaries accompanied by general and detailed illustrations, it introduces the most significant parts from the collection - unique examples of Renaissance Venetian glass, late Renaissance Central European glass painted with enamels, and a large group of 17th- and 18th-century Bohemian, Silesian and German cut and engraved glass from the Baroque period. The publication thus simultaneously bears testimony to the sense of collecting, expertise and, above all, the cultural providence of the collector Vojtěch Lanna.
