Intracellular calcium level in blood platelets during normal and pathological aging and the effect of aluminofluoride complexes.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The platelet free intracellular calcium level ([Ca2+]i) was measured in patients suffering from Alzheimer`s disease (AD), age-matched and young control groups in this study. Also the influence of AlF4- on the [Ca2+]i in all these groups was tested between young and old control healthy subjects. The [Ca2+]i was significantly lower in AD patients than in age-matched and young controls. AlF4- reduces [Ca2+]i in young control group to 85.8+-2.9%, in age-matched control group to 90.2+-2.7% and in AD patientsto 98.5+-3.4% of unstimulated value. There was significant difference between the young controls and AD patients. From these results we can conclude, that the [Ca2+]i is lower in AD patients as compared to age-matched and young healthy controls. AlF4- did not affect the [Ca2+]i in platelets of AD patients.
