Laboratory experiments on CO2-rock-fluid interactions under reservoir conditions. Poster - 9th CO2GeoNet Open Forum - ?Horizon CO2 storage?, May 20-22, 2014, Venice, Italy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The main goal of the research was to study interactions of supercritical CO2 with host rocks and fluids in the storage reservoir, as well as with technical materials used in injection/observation/production wells (steel casing, cement). The research programme consisted of selection and preparation of materials and samples, laboratory experiments and measurements, modelling and evaluation of results. The experimental activities were based on static batch experiments where rock & material samples interacted with supercritical CO2 and brine under reservoir conditions. The materials used for experiments were borehole casing steel, anticorrosive steel, cement and host rock samples. Rock samples used were mainly reservoir rock sandstones, representing various Czech structures potentially suitable for geological storage of CO2. All samples were carefully characterised using XRD analyses, electron microprobe analyses and BET surface area determination prior and after the experiment. The soluti
