This English summary briefly presents the work performed as part of the public contract Geological and Geotechnical Characterisation of the Rock Environment - Bukov URF II and its results and implications. The characterisation and descriptive work was directly related to the excavation of the future underground laboratory and included in particular: geological and geotechnical documentation of the faces and walls of the underground work, petrographic, mineralogical and structural geological documentation, hydrogeological characterisation of the environment, as well as in-situ and laboratory determination of the physical and mechanical properties of the rock massive, geophysical characterisation and monitoring of the seismic effects of blasting. In addition, significant results of the project include 3D structural geological model, laser scanning model of laboratory corridors, new URA classification system, description of the effects of blasting on the surroundings of the newly excavated laboratory corridors, and procedures, methodologies and recommendations for future projects.
