Within the project "Managing inputs of nutrients to avoid deficiency or excess" we studied the problems of soil fertility. The primary problem is a right method and right categories of available pfospgorus reserves. The comparison of methods used in different countries was performed using soil samples from Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Latvia and UK. Soil samples were analysed in said coun tries using established methods. The evaluation is rather difficult because there are errors in the determination andin the terminology of categories: very low, low, suitable etc. It is very troublesome to form a unified nomeclature.
