Pyrenophora tritici-repentis - one of the most important wheat leaf spot pathogens in the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Tan spot, caused by Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, has emerged as a significant foliar disease in European wheat in recent years. Leaf spot diseases were monitored in the Czech Republic wheat fields in 2000 and 2001. P. tritici-repentis and Mycosphaerellagraminicola were predominant in 2000 and 2001, respectively. In 2001, Didymella exitialis was the third most detected fungus in leaf spot samples. This is the first report of this fungus in the Czech Republic. Twenty-three winter wheat cultivars were evaluated for their response to artificial inoculation with P. tritici-repentis for three years under field conditions. Significant differences between cultivars were detected. The lowest AUDPC values were recorded in cvs. Arina, Vlasta, Rialto, Athlet, Trane, Siria, Vega, Alana, and Samara. The highest AUDPC values were in cultivars Boka, Mona, Samanta, Bruta, and Ina. The later maturing cultivars generally were more resistant to tan spot than were the earlier maturing cultivars.
