The weed Bolboschoenus laticarpus has recently spread in some localities on arable land in the Czech Republic. This originally wetland's plant of Cyperaceae family appears maize, wide row crops and field vegetables. With regards to unknown causes of expansion, unknown biology and undocumented B. laticarpus reproduction on arable land, we focused on quantification of aboveground and belowground biomass production, rhizomes and tuber production in model pot experiments. The observation of biomass production began at the beginning of vegetation season (April). One tuber was put in one pot and the experiment was evaluated monthly (May, June, July, August, September and October). The second experiment was established in April, May, June and July (always 1 tuber in 1 pot) and was evaluated at the end of vegetation (October).
