Organic carbon and nitrogen dynamics were analysed in long-term (1965-2006) non-fertilised bare fallow field experiments established in 1958 in Prague-Ruzyně. An analysis of periodicities showed that the contents of organic carbon and nitrogen do not show any statistically significant periodicity. An analysis of correlation showed a statistically significant link between the contents of nitrogen in all monitored variants and at the same time a relatively strong correlation between contents of carbon andnitrogen in certain variants. An analysis of correlations of time trends in organic carbon and nitrogen contents yielded similar results. An analysis of time trends in organic nitrogen contents showed a statistically significant decrease in nitrogen content in all variants for the period 1965 to 1989.
